About us

For Actual (or prospective, or curious) bowlers our Club days are usually Tuesdays (morning) and Saturdays. Just turn up or check out the Programme on website: www.sporty.co.nz/tekauwhatabowls.

We have a minimum of one event per month that is open to Social members (and prospective, and curious non-members). And we meet most Friday nights at the Clubrooms  at 6 Waerenga Rd, Te Kauwhata for socialising. The bar is usually open and live music is frequently provided.

Our programme

Our Summer TWILIGHT LEAGUE is a Business-house style of event aimed at novices/ improvers/ masters. (Club bowlers are available for team assistance and as reserves)    Format: bowls3FIVE

It runs over 6 weeks in 2025. Fridays from 6.15pm : Jan 17, 24, 31 Feb 7, 14, 21 - Best 3 results count.

Entry $30 for each team of three covers all six weeks.  Lucky draw prizes each week.

What you need to know

Bowling is an all-round sport that requires strategy and guile although it's not physically stressful, and of course it is very social. It is non-contact and non-aerobic and we cater for ALL ages and sizes, so it's especially suitable for families to participate in together. 

We enjoy hosting groups of new-bowlers (and experienced bowlers) who would like to use Bowls as a social or team-building activity. Recent groups have been Schools, Sports committees, Businesses for end-of-year get togethers a outside), darts, board games etc.

If you are visually-impaired, hearing impaired, it need not restrict your ability to bowl, and you can even play from a sitting-position if needed.
